2024 Junior Camogie Championship

Our Junior Camogie team started their Championship campaign playing away against Eire Og last night.

We knew numbers this year would be tight as we now have two adult teams. So, with 14 players, these girls gave it their all.

Eire Og started with a goal in the first few minutes and did not slow down the whole first half, even after a goal from our own Orlagh Kelly. (Not in the photo above as she and Jessica McDonald both ran off at the final whistle.)

The coaches asked that they give everything they had for the second half and that they did. A more confident team came out and fought for every ball. As asked in training, the players were talking to one another more on the pitch, and the flow of the play reflected this communication.

These players can be super proud of themselves and their performance. Unfortunately, not enough to beat Eire Og, but if they start their next match the way they finished this one, then Championship is going to be very exciting!
