On Saturday 28th of September 2024 we held a Remembrance Day of Past and Present Players joining together to remember some of the amazing people we have lost but also to celebrate the club and everyone we have playing now.
On this occasion we remembered The Sheehan Brothers, Seamus Barnes, Monica Jameson, the Byrne Sisters and Miley Fortune.
It was a fantastic day and the weather held up its bargain and stayed dry. It was hilarious fun watching the young and older players fight for the win. There was many comments around helmet wearing ‘weren’t required in my day’. It was great fun watching fathers and sons, mothers and daughters play together and on opposing teams.
Massive thank you to three local musicians who gave up their time free of charge. We raised over €3200 for arklow cancer support group and the 3 lads supplied the entertainment, 3 separate 2hr gigs to keep the club full and entertained for 6hrs!
